Your Friend Myk's opening statement
I've just added the ability to publish "open interviews" - this is the first attempt. I'm going to create a list of questions, and anyone who wants to can log in and answer them. Let's see how this goes!

Why are you still here? Once, in my 30s, I was sat at my kitchen table, hungover, sobbing and suicidal. I lay down on my back and closed my eyes, just wishing I could sink into the ground and stop existing, and I had the sensation of falling down into a deep pit. And as I fell I heard every lie depression tells about your self-worth ringing in my ears but for the first time in months I was able to question and evaluate them clearly. And then I hit the bottom of the pit. I felt a distinct thud and a moment of total peace. At that moment I suddenly knew that I would be okay. I have been depressed since, of course, but I no longer listen to those lies when my brain whispers them to me. And I know that each depression will end. That I have a rock bottom I can hit, mentally and get back up from. Of course, I also realised I was bipolar at that point, but my brain helpfully suppressed that information for another decade or so 😆
Are you someone with a plan in life, or someone who mostly wings it? Do you find it easy to imagine that the other kind of person exists?
I am a mostly winging it type but I have no trouble imagining planners. I can plan, I just have the usual neurodivergent inability to execute those plans. But I was at school with a boy who was the son of a pharmacist and he had his whole life planned out. Get A levels, then pharmacy degree. Take over his parents' pharmacy and expand it. Marry and have 2.4 kids. And he did exactly that.
